Storyline

Prem Prakash Tiwari (Ayushmann Khurrana) listening to Kumar Sanu is the film's opening shot. Set in Haridwar, 1990s, the film captures the nascent feel of the town. Prem owns a cassette shop in the local market. His father is keen to get him hitched and the family goes to a local temple to meet Sandhya (Bhumi Pednekar). B.Ed, waiting for a teaching job, the most visible thing about her is her weight. Coming from a patriarchal cognitive set-up, she doesn't fit the quintessential idea of beautiful. And still, the school drop out Prem must marry her because he is incapable of attaining a girl with 'Juhi-Chawla-level-of-looks.' In an elaborate community-wedding ceremony, Prem and Sandhya get married. Their wedding night is uncomfortable with neither treading towards establishing conjugal relations. Prem has in his own reasons and the girl is naturally shy. Next morning on a call, she announces it to a friend and the whole family finds out

Movie Reviews

It is never easy to make a movie about a topic like this. Past attempts have mutilated this kind of story so I was skeptical.One is happy to see that the characters (especially the leads) don't take unhealthy and impractical steps. Also there was no (unnecessary) villain waiting to take advantage of either of them. 

Bhumi acted so believably and Ayushmann complemented her acting. These kind of movies hopefully should be eye openers to ignorant parent in Tier-2/Tier-3 cities and towns and not force their children into arranged marriages. It was just a luck break that the contest (in the end) resolved the marital issues; everybody does not get the same opportunities.

Hats off to the cast and Director for pulling off a superb movie.

I just got home from seeing this film, and I very much enjoyed it. I've been reading some of the negative reviews and trying to understand what they're on about, but I just don't get it. I think it was a great film and I'm glad I saw it. OK, maybe following all the legal machinations gets a little dry at points, but I'm happy with this. It means that the film makers *respect* the story. This isn't one of those atrocities that claims to be based on history, but in fact plays so fast-and-loose with the facts that what you are getting is almost entirely fiction (yes, "The Imitation Game", I'm looking at *you*). While I don't know the details of the actual history in this case, from what I'm able to make out it seems like this film stays pretty true to the facts. I, for one, am glad they resisted the trend of schmaltzing the thing up.

This movie masterfully displays just how deep the values of family and honour are embedded within the Furious characters. 

Paul Walker is fantastic in his last ever movie, alongside Vin Diesel and new addition Jason Stratham as the movies antagonist; this movie really deserves to be seen. 

Fan or not, there is no denying that Furious 7 will take you on a roller-coaster of a ride; emotionally and visually, culminating in the best, most enthralling Furious movie to date which will live on in fans' hearts forever.

Note : of course I didn't see every movie of 2015, but from what I've seen... This is in my top 3 if not the best I've seen. Of course : you have to like a certain genre to like this. But this is kinda everything, If you like anything you probably would like this movie. But, an issue of course is... It is more one thing than another. It is mainly a romance. But, I feel it has something for everyone. It is SORT OF a thriller. (The whole concept is very creepy. Very intense.) drama (well, it IS a romance, and in every romance there is bound to be drama), a sci-fi (see : the plot. Plus, a lot of space info. As one of the mains is an astronomer), and basically everything. It is appropriate for all ages (maybe not 11 and under. It is kinda intense for some 12 year old kids, but it's okay for teenagers I'd say.) But, I can stress enough that THIS IS MORE OF A ROMANCE, if you don't like romance AT ALL, don't see it. Like, if you can't tolerate then. I WILL say it is for everyone, but I also have to say IT IS A ROMANTIC movie. It is basically like a Nicholas Sparks movie, with a HUGEEE twist. It isn't a TYPICAL Nicholas Sparks movie, I'll say. It has great acting, a great plot, a great script, I only gave it a 9 because it is a TAD BIT predictable around the ending. I won't spoil, but if you like to be surprised, the ending will disappoint. But still... This movie will be good for you unless you like surprises and hate romance. OVERALL. ; Acting - 9/10 *cant complain. Really great. Plot - 10/10 Script - 9/10 *again, very romantic. 2 great love stories (3 if you count one they didn't focus on AT ALL) Ending - 9/10 *besides the predictability it was great.* Overall - 9/10
